Capitalication

As you can probably tell I receive some satisfaction in coining phrases and playing with words. Finding a fitting acronym, for the letters of the word “First”, for each aspect of my business name, Nelson First, obviously says something?

Anyway, there is a concept used in business, which is not familiar to many individuals, but once explained is easy to comprehend and it's almost as if everyone already knew it from somewhere before. Well, I have come up with a new word that describes and identifies this idea. This new word is “CAPITALICATION!”

It doesn't say much, you think? OK, lend me an ear. First and foremost, our form of economy is called capitalism. Simply stated, capitalism is a system of free market enterprising whose purpose is to produce goods and services for profit, i.e. making money. Coinciding with capitalism is another word that in part defines how to work within the system of capitalism, called capitalization. The simple explanation for this term is that we are now dealing with, and defining a business's values and worth. In accounting capitalization not only includes strict item-by-item worth but also uses expenditures as part of the overall value of a business. Here, now you can begin to see where the first part of this new conjunction comes from.

The second half of my new word originally came from a production idea. It later was developed into marketing strategies and is also useful in sales development. More will be said about the sales aspect in a moment. This word is duplication. Through this need for duplication individuals learned how to mass-produce products and became rich. Later, advertisers learned about duplicating and new strategies were developed to duplicate specific emotions and desires within people, enticing individuals to purchase their client's goods or services. Not to be left out, the sales departments of these growing companies found this duplication process useful also. By training sales staff, in the “how to” and the “what works” for selling, sales managers found it advantageous to develop numerous sales persons and send them out to duplicate the manager's sales efforts. Let it be known, some companies are not as efficient in this area as others. Those that are, can actually grow by multiplication (I couldn't help myself, I had to use another word with the necessary word ending-“ication,” which is part of my new word.)

Well there it is, I've laid out my reasoning for this new word as best I could. Capital-ication is a way to make money by increasing the value of a business through duplicating. This is exactly what the E-Commerce business I am involved in is doing. For those interested in knowing more, or becoming a part of this ‘CAPITALICATION' remember to call Nelson First.
